Friday racing tips

• WARWICK
  1.10: Deafening Silence 5/6 (2pts)

Deafening Silence

Destroytheevidence isn’t ruled out here but will have to bounce back from a poor performance last time out at Cheltenham.

He will also have to give 7lb to Defeaning Silence and Hillcrest who could make the most of that weight advantage given they aren’t rated 7lb lower.

Deafening Silence went well to place second on his first start over 3m at Windsor last month and becomes a danger here unexposed over this trip.

The weight should be crucial here especially as that advantage almost gets bigger the longer the race goes on and Deafening Silence also gets the first time cheekpieces to potentially help matters further.

South Omo Zone

I think Ambion View was less suited to the conditions last time out which still saw him place second and finish ahead of the odds-on favourite.

There’s surely more from this gelding on his win at Exeter in October alone, beating Ace Of Spades.

He was going well before falling at Wincanton in November and showed he is certainly in and around this level with a decent run last time out.

Mythical Moon was an impressive rival for Meetmebythesea at Doncaster last month, only losing by a neck to the heavy odds-on favourite.

He’s been dropped 2lb after that race which seems lenient and therefore dangerous this time out.

However, they both face the Middleham Park-owned South Omo Zone who stormed home at Wincanton last month beating a 1/3 favourite by over eight lengths.

If you do take that form line as is, then South Omo Zone could be very well weighted against these slightly younger gelding, while still being unexposed over hurdles.

Don’t Rightly Know

Don’t Rightly Know is two for two over fences now and this mare is looking a nightmare for handicappers who have upped her another 10lb after that win at Newbury.

She was given a 7lb rise for her ten length victory over Hititi in December, but given the way she’s won so far and how unexposed she is over fences she looks the one to beat albeit at this point the odds have La Malmason favoured.

That said, when Gavin Cromwell brings a horse over to Britain it’s wise to no rule it out as he has a healthy 17% strike-rate in the last five years.

The Polly Gundry-trained horse is ten-years-old, carrying 4lb more than the higher rated La Malmason, who as a Walk In The Park mare should be very well suited to this step up in trip.

However, Don’t Rightly Know ticks the boxes with untapped potential, confirmed staying ability including over course and distance which could be vital.
