The Fufa Appeals Committee has fined Emmanuel Ajo more money and also suspended the player for five matches after he pays the fine.

Initially, Ajo who signed for both SC Villa and later NEC in the transfer window was awarded to the latter with the player told to refund 8 million sign on fees he got from the Jogoos and also pay a fine of 7 million for breach.

However, Villa appealed the decision and wanted the player to instead pay Ugx. 50 million or honour the original contract he signed with the club.

In reply, the appeals committee has not awarded Villa their full wish but asked Ajo to pay more 9.8 million and the player is also suspended for five matches.

Summary terms of the Decision.

The FUFA Appeals Committee has decided to communicate only the following summary terms of the decision.

1. The FUFA Appeals Committee received an appeal from SC Villa arising from FUFA DRC NO.46 OF 2024 challenging the findings of the FUFA DRC and praying that the Appeals Committee orders the player to perform the Villa Contract or in the alternative be paid UGX 50,000,000 in damages.

2. The Appeal was served on the respondent player Emmanuel Ajo to provide a response which he did. The parties were invited and appeared for a hearing before the FUFA Appeals Committee at FUFA House, Mengo and were allowed to present their case, submit their arguments and answer the questions by the Committee.

3. Upon critical evaluation of the case file the Appeals Committee noted that the act of the player signing a contract with one club and then abandoning it and signing another one with another Club offering a higher amount is reprehensible behavior that cannot be allowed.

4. Furthermore, the Appeals Committee noted that as a result of his failure to perform the contract, SC Villa was deprived of the player’s services.

5. On account of the above considerations, the Committee decided to adjust the compensation awarded to SC Villa to UGX 25,000,000 inclusive of the refund of the sign-on fee and decided that a sporting sanction of a 5-match suspension be imposed on the player.

Having already paid UGX 15,200,000, the player shall pay the balance of UGX 9,800,000 to SC Villa.

6. On ground of the above, the appeal filed by SC Villa is partially allowed and consequently the Appeals Committee rules that;

a) The Player Emmanuel Ajo is ordered to pay SC Villa an additional UGX 9,800,000.

b) The Player is ineligible to play until the above amount is paid.

c) The Player Emmanuel Ajo upon being eligible to play (after payment of the amount above) shall be suspended for 5 official matches.

d) All other prayers for relief are dismissed

7. The decision of the Appeal Committee is final.
