Fulham vs Crystal Palace predictions
With eight teams still standing, the FA Cup looks wide open this season.
Manchester City are the sole member of the English football’s so-called ‘big six’ still involved, and Pep Guardiola’s charges have hardly been at their imperious best this term.
Aston Villa are a force to be reckoned with and the quarter-final draw was kind to them, pairing Unai Emery’s men with Preston North End, the only second-tier side yet to be eliminated.
The Premier League’s middle class is well represented in the last eight. Bournemouth host Manchester City, whom they have already beaten at the Vitality Stadium this term. No one would be too surprised if the Cherries were to triumph again, although the bookies have City down as favourites.
Fresh from dumping out Newcastle United in the last round, Brighton & Hove Albion are preparing to face Nottingham Forest, the top flight’s surprise package in 2024/25.
Finally, Fulham and Crystal Palace are ready to do battle at Craven Cottage. Having never won a major trophy before, these two sides crave success more than most.
In fact, you could easily make the argument that Fulham and Palace are the biggest clubs in the English game to have never scooped significant silverware (sorry Palace fans, but the Full Members Cup does not count).
They have both come close. Fulham were FA Cup runners-up in 1975, going down to West Ham United, and were beaten finalists in the Europa League in 2010.
Palace, for their part, reached the FA Cup showpiece in 1990 and 2016, only to lose to Manchester United on both occasions.
The way this FA Cup campaign has unfolded is healthy for the tournament and for English football as a whole.
The competition has been won by a group of five – Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United – every year but one since 2013. There is a good chance there will be a different name on the trophy this time around.
One of Fulham or Palace will see their dreams crushed on Saturday. The other will proceed to Wembley for the semi-finals next month. The stakes could not be much higher for these two trophyless clubs from the capital.

Fulham vs Crystal Palace betting tips
Fulham and Crystal Palace face off in the FA Cup – which team will advance to the semi-finals?
Crystal Palace to qualify
Just a few weeks back, Crystal Palace turned up at Craven Cottage and delivered a masterclass of an away performance.
Palace completely neutralised Fulham’s attack, restricting the hosts to an xG of 0.2. Marco Silva’s men did not manage a single shot on target last time out.
Silva will doubtless have studied that match intently in the build-up to Saturday’s tie, but that will not necessarily be enough to bring Fulham victory.

Palace have a terrific record on the road. They rank seventh in the Premier League’s away table and have not lost a top-flight game at a rival ground since October.
In 2025, only Liverpool and Arsenal have better points-per-game records than Oliver Glasner’s team. Palace might not get the job done in 90 minutes, but we like the look of them to advance.

Under 2.5 goals
Fulham beat Tottenham Hotspur in their final game before the March international break.
It was the 13th time this term that a Premier League match involving the Cottagers featured under 2.5 goals.
Crystal Palace’s games tend to err on the low-scoring side too. They are adept at keeping things tight on their travels, to the extent that Palace have the top-flight’s best defensive record away from home.
Their Premier League matches both home and away average just 2.46 goals – another reason to expect a relatively cagey affair on Saturday.
That does not mean this will be a dull watch. However, those expecting a goal-laden affair are likely to be disappointed.

Ismaila Sarr to score any time
Jean-Philippe Mateta is expected to be back in the Crystal Palace starting XI after the horrific injury he suffered against Millwall in the fifth round.
Given how integral he is to the team’s attack, Palace will hope the Frenchman is not at all tentative in his first game back.
The Eagles have other forwards capable of causing Fulham problems, though. Ismaila Sarr, for one, is enjoying a fine debut season at Selhurst Park.
It took a while for Sarr to force his way into Glasner’s first-choice line-up, but he is now Palace’s second-highest scorer with eight goals in all competitions.
