Gaddafi Football Club maintained the number one status quo with a hard-fought 2-1 victory on the road over Arua Hill at Pece War memorial stadium, Gulu city on Sunday, 22nd December 2024.

Under the new management of the staff association for Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC), Gaddafi recovered from a goal down to win the physical contest.

Dickens Kilama converted a penalty a minute after the opening quarter hour mark to give the hosts a slim 1-0 lead by the mandatory half time break.

The visitors then scored through Congolese goal scoring machine Jonathan Mbula Momboko and Denis Lubowa to secure maximum points on the road.

This is Gaddafi’s 7th win in as many as 10 matches as they remain top of the standings on 23 points.

Meanwhile, second placed Blacks Power maintained their rich vein of form with a narrow 1-0 home win over visiting MYDA at the Akii Bua stadium in Lira city.

Michael Siwu scored the all-important goal in the 43rd minute.

Blacks Power is also on 43 points, but with a lower goal difference compared to Gadaffi.

MYDA suffered their 7th loss of the season in 10 matches as they remain rock-bottom.

In other matches, Buhimba United Saints won 2-1 at the intimidating Mbale City stadium over Kataka.

Edson Agondeze and Martin Phillip Opolot were on target for Buhimba United Saints.

Kiyinda Boys edged Calvary 2-1 at Betheleme city ground whilst Kaaro Karungi overcame Paidha Black Angles 1-0.

There were two 1-all stalemates between Kigezi Home Boyz and Onduparaka in Kabale as well as Booma United and Ntungasaze’s encounter in Masindi.

The league takes a break for the festive and new year celebrations until resumption on 5th January 2025.

Three clubs will be promoted to the 2025-2026 Uganda Premier League.
