Gaddafi’s Kabonge optimistic of brave performances in 2024-2025 FUFA Big League

Sunday, 13th October 2024 Fixtures:

Gaddafi Vs Kigezi Home Boyz – Entebbe Works playground (4:00 PM)

Busoga United Vs Kaaro Karungi – Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe – Jinja (4:00 PM)

Ntugasaze Vs Kiyinda Boys – Ssaza ground, Mityana (4:00 PM)

MYDA Vs Calvary – Kongunga primary school, Bukedea (4:00 PM)

Seasoned promotional specialist Allan Kabonge Kivewala has embarked on yet another job to see a club elevated from the FUFA Big League to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Kabonge is head coach at Gaddafi Football Club, an entity under the new management of Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC).

“It is already work underway at Gaddafi Football Club and the target is promotion to the top flight” Kabonge remarks.

Kabonge has previously witnessed the promotion of several clubs as Onduparaka, Paidha Black Angels, Masavu, Aurum Roses and was lately at Impala Hills in the Kampala Regional league.

He lauds the new management of Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) for the support accorded to the team.

“I thank the new management at Uganda Printing and Publishing Corporation (UPPC) for entrusting me with the project. With full support, cordial cooperation with the technical team, players, fans and other staff, we shall attain the ultimate target” Kabonge adds.

Gaddafi embarked the season with an away draw (1-1) against Kaaro Karungi in Ntungamo with the first home game coming on Sunday, 13th October 2024 at the Entebbe Works Playground.

The present squad at Gaddafi is a blend of the young and experienced players who will fight to the brim to attain the target of promotion.

Former Mbarara City goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekebba, another experienced goalkeeper Ibrahim Maganda (formerly at NEC), former KCCA and Uganda Cranes defender Savio Kabugo, former Vipers and Onduparaka defender Ahmed Amayo, former Mbarara City midfielder Tom Kakaire, former Express and Police forward Frank “Machette” Kalanda, former Jogoo Young left back Ssekyewa, former Proline and Wakiso Giants defender Simon Namwanja, former Vipers forward Davis Kasirye and former Vipers, Wakiso Giants left winger Duncan Sseninde are some of the players the Kabonge and the rest of the technical team has to juggle with.

Other match day results:

In Jinja city, Busoga United will entertain Kaaro Karungi at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe.

Ntugasaze will play-host to Kiyinda Boys at the Ssaza ground, Mityana.

Kiyinda Boys beat MYDA on match day one 2-1 at the Barthelem playground, Gayaza whilst Ntgasaze lost 0-2 to Kigezi Home Boyz in Kabale.

In Bukedea, MYDA faces Calvary at the Kongunga primary school, Bukedea.

At the end of the season in May 2025, three clubs shall be promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
