Hamzah Sheeraz got off to a blistering start against Tyler Denny in the co-main event before Anthony Joshua vs Daniel Dubois.

The towering middleweight sent Denny tumbling to the canvas in the opening 13 seconds of their contest with a straight right followed by a left hook.

Sheeraz made quick work of Denny

Denny shook it off and got straight back to work but was decked again in the second round by a sweeping right to the body.

The Black Country boxer tried desperately to get back to his feet but was unable to beat the count as the fight was waved off by the referee.

As a result, Sheeraz extended his unbeaten streak to 21 and successfully defended his Commonwealth belt while simultaneously snatching the European strap away from Denny.

The dominant victory proved Sheeraz is a step above European level and he now looks ready to challenge the upper echelons of the 160lbs division.

Before the Denny fight was made, IBF middleweight champion Janibek Alimkhanuly was reportedly offered a showdown with Sheeraz but turned it down.

Ring Magazine’s Jake Donovan reported that Alimkhanuly’s team were offered in excess of $1million to face the Brit.

However, the esteemed boxing writer claims they chose not to take the fight.

Instead, Alimkhanuly will box the undefeated Andrei Mikhailovich on October 4 over in Sydney, Australia for considerably less money.
