Hansi Flick seemed to hush the Barcelona celebrations after they won the LaLiga title away at rivals Espanyol.

A Lamine Yamal stunner and stoppage-time goal from Fermin Lopez handed Barca a 2-0 victory that sealed the Spanish league title.

It’s the second time in three seasons Barcelona have won the league at Espanyol’s RCDE Stadium, a stone’s throw from their Camp Nou.

The previous instance saw a group of home fans run onto the pitch as riot police were called in to protect the celebratory visiting players.

Flick wasn’t in charge of Barca in the 2022/23 season but watched the dramatic scenes and warned his side about how to celebrate.

Speaking before Thursday night’s match, he said: “I don’t think it’s a good idea to talk or think about celebrations before the game.

“We have to focus on the match. I saw what happened two years ago on television.

“Things are done with respect. We have to fight for the three points and then we will do what is right.”

At full-time, Barcelona once again celebrated on the pitch but they appeared to anger Espanyol players as a small scuffle broke out.

Flick was then seen pushing his players towards the tunnel as their city rivals made an attempt to simmer things down even further.

Espanyol turned on the sprinklers in a bid to leave the Barca players soaking.

The celebrations continued despite the effort, although Flick was still keen for his players and staff to walk off the pitch.

Barcelona have won the title ahead of rivals Real Madrid with two games to spare.

They could surpass 100 league goals for the season in the final weeks against Villarreal and Athletic Bilbao.

Victory against Espanyol has seen them go unbeaten in 17 straight LaLiga matches, an incredible run that started in January.

However, the match was marred by terrifying scenes outside of the stadium during the first half.

A car was filmed driving into a crowd, with local police confirming that 13 people were injured.

Play was temporarily paused as a result of the incident that Catalonia government president Salvador Illa claimed was an accident.
