Tom Aspinall has predicted his winner for Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic and revealed remarkable plans for his post-UFC endeavours.

Aspinall is the UFC’s interim heavyweight champion, which he claimed by overcoming Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 295 in November 2023.

He retained the status by knocking out Curtis Blaydes at UFC Manchester in July and is destined to unify the heavyweight division in 2025.

Jones is the current UFC heavyweight champion and defends his belt against MMA veteran Miocic on November 17 as the main event of UFC 309.

Being the interim champion, Aspinall is the No.1 contender to fight the winner of the bout at Madison Square Garden, New York City.

But rumours have been circulating that both fighters have considered retiring after the fight, regardless of the outcome.

“I’d be looking for the knockout against Jon Jones is what I’d be looking for with him,” Aspinall told Safest Casino Sites.

“I’d be trying to push him back and use his size. It’s not even like he can use the experience, [because] they’re both as experienced as one another.

“But I’d just be using my size on him, trying to push him back and knock him out.

“I think that Stipe Miocic has got big knockout power in comparison to Jon Jones. So I think he can knock him out.”

42-year-old Miocic made his debut for Dana White’s promotion in October 2011 at UFC 136.

He has been victorious in 14 of his 18 total UFC bouts, but his last octagon appearance came back in March 2021, when he was knocked out by Francis Ngannou.

Jones has only fought once in the UFC in the last four years since his move up to the heavyweight division, having dominated the light heavyweight division for nearly 10 years.

Aspinall dismissed the narrative of ‘Bones’ being the greatest MMA fighter in history and claimed ‘failed drugs tests’ were behind those feelings.

The Manchester man has finished every single one of his opponents in his eight UFC victories since debuting in July 2020.

His only loss came to Blaydes in the pair’s first bout, after he tore his MCL and meniscus just 15 seconds into their UFC London Fight Night main event.

The 31-year-old is currently in the form of his life, but has already considered what he will do once he hangs the gloves up.

Aspinall recently appeared inside the WWE ring at an event in Manchester alongside WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes.

He insists the professional wrestling world is something he could see himself ending up in.

“Absolutely. That’s what I want to do in my post-fighting career,” Aspinall added.

“I’ve got my show on TNT Sports now, so I like the punditry side as well.  I’m very passionate about MMA but WWE is something new and exciting for me as well.

“I really enjoyed it, it’s a buzz. It’s another way to get out there in front of an audience and do something not quite as dangerous, but still get the thrill.

“I’ve still got a lot that I want to do in my MMA career. I’m not saying that I want to hang up the gloves just yet, but I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t enjoy it. I enjoyed the whole thing.”

Aspinall is the official backup fighter for Jones vs Miocic on November 17, should either fighter pull out of the bout.

Elsewhere at UFC 309, Michael Chandler takes on Charles Oliveira in a five-round co-main event in the lightweight division.

Viviane Araujo faces Karine Silva in a women’s flyweight bout and Scotland’s Paul Craig challenges hot prospect Bo Nickal in a middleweight clash.

UFC legend Jim Miller also features in the undercard as he faces fellow American Damon Jackson.

Miller holds the record for the most total fights and wins in the UFC’s history with 26 victories in 44 bouts.
