Tyson Fury insists a fight with Anthony Joshua will happen before the end of their boxing careers.

A showdown with Joshua once again appeared to take an almighty blow, as the ‘Gypsy King’ watched Daniel Dubois knock out his long-term rival at Wembley Stadium last month.

Fury reacted from ringside as if he had lost out on two huge paydays against Joshua, a fight which fans have clamoured for since their emergence at world level.

But the former two-time champion insists his long-term foe is still on a trajectory to meet him, even if it takes until the age of 50.

“Joshua knows he’s getting it,” Fury said during an interview ahead of the console release of boxing video game Undisputed on October 11.

“Even if we’re 50 years old he’s got to fight me. There’s no escaping it, he cannot escape me.

“Even if we are 50, we’re still going to sell out Wembley. That is a fact, anybody they can all get it.”

Joshua and Fury have always been on a collision course, but a fight has never materialised.

The pair have been due to meet for the undisputed titles in 2022 when they were at the pinnacle of their careers, but Fury was forced to meet Deontay Wilder in a trilogy battle.

A showdown now seems the easiest it has ever been to be made, given the Saudi intervention in boxing which has brought rival promoters Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren together.

But Joshua now faces a tough rebuild given his defeat for the IBF title clash, which could see Dubois instead in pole position.

Fury will first meet Oleksandr Usyk in a revenge-driven rematch on December 21, and the outcome of the clash could determine if Joshua gets a shot.

AJ appears to be focused on his own sequel with Dubois, but a win could relight a clash with his domestic counterpart.

And Eddie Hearn insists that is the fight that will always be on the table, despite losses on both sides of the negotiating table.

Hearn said: “For me, we have to fight Tyson Fury before he’s done.

“You know, I said to AJ the other night, I said, ‘You’ve got somewhere between one and three fights left,’ and it all went very quiet on the phone. It’s like the realization, ‘wow.’ He don’t want to leave the sport. He loves it.

“But we as a team will make sure that he leaves the sport at the right time, and you leave when you’re deteriorating and when it’s showing in the gym, and when you’re not sparring well, you’re getting hurt, etc, etc. And none of that’s happening, by the way.

“If Tyson Fury loses against Oleksandr Usyk, my advice would be for those two to have two fights in 2025 and then sail off into the sunset. May the best man win.

“If Fury wins against Usyk, AJ can fight Fury for the unified world heavyweight championship.”
