Amir Khan knew better than to get in Mike Tyson’s way.
The British boxing legend had a funny reaction when his talkSPORT.com interview was interrupted by Iron Mike last year.
The pair were both in attendance for Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Khan was simply there as a guest to watch the fight, while Tyson had skin in the game.
The heavyweight legend had been working with Ngannou for some occasional training sessions in the build-up to the event and was there as an assistant coach during fight week.
As always, he was flanked by a big entourage and security presence with camera following him everywhere he went.
Prior to the start of the press conference, talkSPORT.com began an interview with Khan.
However, this was interrupted by Tyson’s arrival, as he and his entourage stormed directly through the middle.
Khan gave a funny reaction as he told talkSPORT.com: “Hey listen, when Mike Tyson’s walking through, you don’t want to stand in front of Mike Tyson.
“He might punch you!
“When you’ve got Mike Tyson walking through you, I’m like, ‘Mate, let him go.’
“Because you don’t wanna get hit by him. You don’t wanna be in his way basically.”
Khan is a big supporter of boxing in the Middle East.
He had his own fight in Saudi when he took on Billy Dib in 2019 and has since become an ambassador for boxing in the region.
Discussing the development of boxing in Riyadh, Khan had only positive things to say.
Khan then continued: “What Saudi Arabia is doing with boxing is amazing.
“I think what Saudi Arabia has done now is become the Mecca of boxing and what His Excellency Turki Alalshikh has done is amazing.
“People doubted Saudi Arabia and he’s come here and done it now, so respect where it’s due. The biggest fights are here, I’m really excited.”
