Basketball Academies are crucial in preparing kids for the future and not just basketball but life, in general.

It’s at these academies that kids get to learn basketball and life skills that help them in their day-to-day lives as sportsmen and women or whatever profession they choose to be.

Henrison Basketball Academy (HBA) has been at the forefront of teaching kids over the years with their sessions held at Kabira Country Club.

On Saturday, December 7, HBA held their biggest event of the year with kids competing against each other in one-on-ones, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 as well as a shooting contest across age groups.

“It was a good event for the kids and they clearly had fun,” said Henrison Mbaziira, the Academy proprietor.

“Sport is good for kids, not just to keep them busy and fit [but] it contributes to their health, discipline, self-confidence, and other invaluable skills.

“We want to keep them away from gadgets and bad habits by engaging them throughout the holidays,” added Mbaziira.
