Deion Sanders will not let anybody talk trash about Travis Hunter.
The two-way star is considered a potential No. 1 overall pick in next Year’s NFL Draft and among the Heisman favorites.
Hunter is a dynamic prospect on offense and defense
He is a huge part of Coach Prime‘s Colorado Buffaloes program.
Sanders appeared on ESPN College Gameday ahead of Saturday’s clash between the 4-1 Buffalos and No. 18-ranked Kansas City Wildcats.
The NFL legend is confident in his team’s ability to pull off another upset win.
And his confidence in Hunter also knows no bounds – as Pat McAfee found out on the broadcast.
“Travis Hunter is now second favorite in the odds for the Heisman and obviously…,” McAfee began, before being interrupted.
“How do you even fix your mouth to say that? Second? Travis Hunter and second has never gotten along,” Sanders joked.
“You said it! You can’t get into that type of conversation.”
Hunter is behind Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, who is on pace for 2,500 yards on the ground, in the odds.
The Buffalos wide receiver has 46 receptions for 561 yards and six touchdowns, as well as playing as a lockdown corner on the other side of the ball.
McAfee eventually got his question in and Sanders revealed what makes him so special.

Hunter busts out the Heisman pose
“He don’t drink, he don’t smoke, he goes right home after practice to study a ton of film.
“He’s one of the best human beings that I know.
“We have a race every Saturday morning to see who gets up first. We send one another a text. He beat me this morning like, ‘Let’s go coach.’ I’m like, ‘Let’s go.’
“Travis, he loves the dirty game of football. And that’s what I love about him.
“We don’t have to worry about what he’s gonna do on Saturday ‘cos we already know. And I love every minute of it.”
There were clearly no hard feelings after the exchange.
“I’m just telling you what the odds are,” McAfee wrote when posting the clip alongside two crying laughing emojis.
Hunter will have plenty of chances to impress scouts this season as the Buffaloes are guaranteed coverage.
The debate is still raging over whether he will play receiver, cornerback, or both, at the next level.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders – Deion’s son – is also set to hear his name called early next year.
