Here at TalkSPORT, we have a passion for bringing you the latest sports news and debate.
But we’re not just sports fans, we’re also gymgoers, five-a-side football players, TV watchers and beer drinkers.
That’s why in our dedicated shopping section, we want to give you the lowdown on the products we love the most, and we think you’ll love too.
Our product reviews are about testing products from top brands, and some you may not have heard of, to find the best gear on the market at the best price.
How we choose which products to test
We test the products we think our readers are interested in, from running gear to help you hit a new PB to great new beers to drink while you’re watching the match.
If we see something trending on social media we’ll put it through its paces to make sure it’s worth the money.
We’ll also keep an eye on the latest kit launches for Premier League teams and highlight the latest deals on your favourite products that we know you won’t want to miss.
What is our testing process?
We’ll always test products to their full extent, so while this might vary depending on what we’re testing, we take the time to find the pros and cons and give a verdict.
For example, in our review of the best meal prep services, we spent a full week with each brand. We looked at the variety of dishes on offer, ease of cooking, flavour, freshness of ingredients, and whether we were full after each meal.
We test products firsthand so even if we are just reviewing a new beer we’ll make sure to savour it at the optimal temperature and give our honest opinion on the taste.
How do we rate products?
In our reviews, we give products a score out of five based on the matrix below:
1 (Poor) – The product fails to meet our expectations in multiple areas, with issues such as poor overall quality or ineffective performance.
2 (Fair) – The product has several drawbacks and performs below the average. This may be due to a lack of essential features or limited effectiveness.
3 (Average) – The product is satisfactory, albeit with some minor shortcomings. Some desirable features may be missing but overall quality and performance are fairly good.
4 (Good) – The product is of good quality and performs effectively, with the most desired features included. There may be some very minor issues.
5 (Exceptional) – The product is exceptional when compared to others on the market. It is high quality, provides strong performance and has a range of features. We found no real flaws.
This means that at a glance you can see what we thought, and know that a four or five out of five is well worth a purchase.
We’ll try to highlight the pros and cons that we experienced during testing to give you a more detailed idea of what to expect.
In addition, we may highlight products that perform well in a particular area. For example: “best budget option”, or “best for durability”, to help you find what you want for your needs.
Why you can trust us
All products are tested by writers who take the time to review products firsthand.
We’ll endeavour to use the products as they would be used by a normal consumer, in a variety of situations if necessary, and over a long enough time to gain a good insight.
Our reviewers generally have tried other products in the market and will use these for comparison.
In our best-of round-ups, we don’t tend to include anything we rate lower than 3/5.
If we grade an item lower than this, we don’t think it’s worth your time.
We don’t take money or sponsorship to write individual reviews of products.
If we ever include a sponsored listing in one of our product round-ups, this will be clearly marked.
Affiliate Disclosure
Some of the links in our articles are affiliate links, which means if a reader follows a link to a retailer and buys a product, we’ll take a commission on the sale.
It costs the reader no extra on their purchase, and whether we earn this commission or not it won’t affect our review score.
The revenue earned from these sales helps us to continue investing in testing products.
