If you enjoy running, you’ll know that a great pair of trainers can make all the difference to performance and enjoyment.
The most comfortable running shoes that I’ve ever used for long-distance running are the Hoka Clifton 9 trainers and they’re currently heavily discounted at Sportsshoes.com.

While I’m no Eilish McColgan, I have successfully completed the London Marathon four times – as well as a couple of other marathons – and have the battered toenails and blister scars to prove it.
However, when I ran the London Marathon in 2022 wearing the Hoka Clifton 9 running shoes, my feet emerged unscathed, which is why I’d highly recommend taking advantage of the 20% discount at Sportsshoes.com.
The sale price is £103.99, which is a £26 saving, and for that price, you are getting trainer tech that is usually only seen on running shoes that cost upwards of £175.

From track speed sessions and hill runs to long training runs of up to 20 miles, I used these light, springy and bouncy Hoka running shoes and they felt super supportive throughout.
The sole is shaped like a rocking chair to encourage a smooth roll from the impact of landing to the toe-off of the next stride.
The EVA foam cushioning runs along the full length of the base of these Hoka Clifton 9 trainers to help cushion joints and muscles when pounding the pavements.

I am convinced that the thick foam in the Hoka Clifton 9 running shoes helped me avoid foot, calf and other injuries during training or the actual race, which is something I’ve suffered with wearing other footwear.
The weight of your footwear is important when running long distances or if you’re returning to running after a break and the Clifton 9s weigh just 249g.
That’s 20g lighter than the average running shoe and 50g lighter than the Hoka Bondi 8 running shoes, which are also super popular in the running community.
The Bondi 8 running shoes are also on sale on the official Hoka website, reduced by £45 to £104.99.
I’ve never tried the Bondi running shoes, but I’m not alone in my love for the Hoka Clifton 9s as over 1,000 shoppers have left five-star reviews praising the trainers on the Sportsshoes website.
“This is probably my tenth pair of Cliftons, I’ve lost count,” wrote one impressed shopper.
“For the money, I don’t know any other shoe that provides a very comfortable ride yet is lightweight enough to really move my legs.”
Another added: “The Clifton 9s are wonderful – The further I run the more comfortable my feet get.
“You do not have to lace them up too tight as they contour the shape of your foot and leave you feeling as if you were wearing no shoes at all!”
