The Rock hailed Donald Trump as ‘brave’ after his assassination attempt, according to the former US President himself.
The 78-year-old billionaire is aiming for a second swing at the White House heading into November’s US election where he competes with sitting Vice President Kamala Harris for votes.

He has led an at-times controversial race and has never strayed far from the headlines, the biggest of which came earlier this summer when an attempt was made on his life.
Trump, himself a WWE Hall of Famer, was speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania in July when a shooter took aim, catching the former President on the ear as he escaped with his life by a matter of inches.
The images of Trump standing tall after the assassination attempt was blazoned across the front pages globally for days after, so it was naturally a topic of discussion when Trump featured as a guest on Six Feet Under, the podcast of WWE legend The Undertaker.
The pair touched on a number of topics, and got on to that chaotic scene when Trump mentioned what he claimed was the reaction of wrestling great Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson to the incident.
Undertaker had nominated Johnson as WWE’s highest-profile star on social media when Trump quickly shifted topics to the shooting, claiming that the wrestler turned movie sensation demanded the New Yorker’s phone number from UFC chief Dana White.
“You know, he was great,” said Trump. “I never thought he liked me, and I felt badly because I think he’s a terrific guy.
“Then Dana White said, when I was shot, I took a shot to the ear, you may have heard about it.
“Rock called Dana and said: ‘I want to have his number… what he did is sort of incredible.’
“He considered it bravery, I don’t know, to me, I considered it like that [and thought] ‘what’s going on here?’
“But it was very nice, actually, The Rock, so you might mention that I said that – do you speak to him at all? He’s doing great.”

Trump stopped short of revealing whether or not Rock’s statement to White was the extent of his opinion or whether the Moana star had gone on to reach out to him directly.
Undertaker went on to press the 45th US President on why he continued to campaign given the lifestyle he could otherwise enjoy, allowing Trump to gush about the huge crowds his campaigns draw – similar to his boast that his appearance at WrestleMania 23 in 2007 gave the company its pay-per-view record.
He went on: “Believe me on that, I sometimes joke with the crowds, because we get very big crowds, we had 107,000 in Butler, that’s where the accident took place; we had 55,000 when we went back a couple of months later.”
“No other politician had these crowds, I don’t even know what it is exactly, I can’t explain it.
“I sometimes say: ‘I don’t have to be here with you, I could be in Monte Carlo on the beaches, I could have everything, I don’t need this, but I would rather be in Butler, Pensylvannia with you.’”
Trump battled, by proxy, former WWE boss Vince McMahon during his WrestleMania appearance, Bobby Lashley defeating Umaga to leave McMahon having his head shaved in the ring as a result.
Earlier in his business career, Trump’s hotel and casino facility hosted the fourth and fifth WrestleManias in the late 1980s.
