Gervonta Davis’ training partner claims he witnessed ‘Tank’ knock out a full-blown heavyweight in sparring.
The Baltimore banger is one of the biggest punchers in boxing today and has laid out the majority of his opponents from super featherweight (130lbs) up to super lightweight (140lbs).

Of his 30 wins, 28 of them have come inside the distance with former WBA super lightweight champion Isaac Cruz and durable Mexican journeyman German Meraz being the only men that have been able to withstand his power thus far.
When it comes to heavy-handed fighters in the lower weight classes, boxing fans love to speculate about how far a boxer’s power will carry them through the divisions.
In Davis‘ case, there is seemingly no limit – at least according to his gym mate.
“Man I was about to spar Tank, he was sparring this big boy, a heavyweight boy,” Davis’ sparring partner told ESNEWS.
“And Tank hit him so hard he was on the ropes like this (hanging), I thought he died.
“I was like, ‘Man, I hope you don’t do this s*** to me.’”
When Davis was asked to confirm whether it was true, the WBA lightweight champion replied: “S*** be happening.
“Best not to get in there with me. That’s it.”
Davis is set to return to the ring against Lamont Roach on March 1 at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn.
The pair were originally slated to face each other on December 14.

However, the fight has since been pushed back until next year.
It is presently unclear exactly why the fight has been postponed.
But there were suggestions it could have something to do with problems in booking a venue.
Roach, the current reigning WBA super featherweight champion, has been granted permission by the major sanctioning body to take on Davis for his lightweight title while retaining his 130lbs strap.
The 29-year-old picked up the black and gold belt by beating Hector Luis Garcia via split decision in November 2023 and defended it against Feargarl McCrory in June.
In the same month that Roach won the super featherweight title, Davis was elevated from ‘regular’ to full lightweight world champion after Devin Haney vacated the belt.

Davis defended his world title for the first time in June.
He secured an eighth-round knockout win over Frank Martin and will now make his second defence against Roach.
