The highly anticipated ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League (Group B) top-of-the-table clash between Italy and Uganda could not happen at Kowloon Cricket Club Oval due to persistent rain.

The weather deciding what could have a great game between two teams pushing for a place in the round of the qualifiers.

Uganda had won the encounter between the two teams in the first round in Uganda but with Italy not so far from table leaders Uganda, they knew a result in this particular clash would have closed the gap between the two sides.

The two sides could be content with a point and will both now have to beat another close rival Hong Kong China to have an advantage in a very competitive Group B.

Uganda takes on Hong Kong China tomorrow before finishing their second round against Tanzania.

Italy remains two points behind Uganda with a better Net Run Rate while Hong Kong China is in third place.
