Where is the weirdest place you have had a hair cut?

It’s probably not in a boxing ring like middleweight Austin Deanda on Friday night.

Deanda going to his corner after the third round

The 21-year-old encountered a hair disaster as his braids came loose while trading blows with opponent DeAundre Pettus, but he was determined to overcome it.

After the third round, as Deanda sat in the corner, he demanded his team to ‘cut it’, but to try and do it ‘evenly’.

The cutman followed through, despite some initial hesitation, responding: “I’m a cutman, not a barber!”

Deanda’s luscious locks were then snipped off mid-fight, leaving him with something of a buzz cut.

‘The Native Nightmare’ couldn’t add another knockout to his previous ten, but he fought through eight gruelling rounds to keep his undefeated record, now with 16 wins and ten knockouts.

The judges scored the bout as a unanimous decision (77-75, 78-74, 77-75).

Deanda made the right call to trim his hair as he dented Pettus’ record, which now sits at 11-3.

The victor celebrated with a black cap covering up his new trim, which may suggest it needs fixing.

On the same card lightweight champions Gervonta Davis and Denys Berinchyk were called out by a victorious Keyshawn Davis.

He made quick work of Gustavo Lemos who missed weight by over six pounds.

How long will it take to grow back?
Post haircut going into the fourth round

The 25-year-old, fighting in his own town of Norfolk, Virginia knocked down his opponent Lemos three times in the second round before a wonderful left hook, right hand combination sent the Argentine down for the final time.

After the fight Davis said: “I had no hesitation. Me and my team, we stuck to our guns. I didn’t feel any power in him. I actually sat back on the ropes one little second, and I let him throw his overhand that he loves and I felt it on my shoulder.

“I looked at my brothers and gave them that face like, ‘no, not enough (power)’. It ended in the second round so maybe he didn’t really get a chance to hit me.

When asked ‘what’s next’, he answered: “A world title. 2025 we got big big plans for everybody in the boxing world. Ay Gervonta, knock knock.

Davis is now 12-0 with eight knockouts.

Another highlight of the night came from lightweight Abdullah Mason (16-0, 14KOs) who survived two first round knockdowns to finish Yohan Vasquez in the second round.
