Mookie Betts is one of the best baseball players in the world.
He is also a damn good bowler.

In fact, he may just be a better bowler than he is a baseball player, and that’s saying a lot.
Betts is a three-time World Series champion: one with the Boston Red Sox in 2018 and two with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020 and 2024.
He is an eight-time All-Star and four-time All-MLB First Team.
And he won the AL MVP in 2018.
How could he possibly be a better anything than he is a baseball player?
He is one of the greatest players of his generation.
Well, his bowling skills may give his baseball talent a run for its money.
Back in 2017, Betts bowled a perfect game at the World Series of Bowling, knocking down 12 strikes in a row.
A flawless 300.
However, when peeling back the curtain a bit on Betts and his background, his bowling prowess isn’t all that surprising.

Betts’ mom was a competitive bowler, so he found himself spending a lot of time at the bowling alley growing up.
“Bowling is in my blood,” Betts told NBC News last year.
He compared it to baseball and how both sports have similarities.
“Bowling is so complex,” Betts explained.
“You have to be creative. There’s a lot of visualization when it comes to bowling, just like baseball.”
Betts says he has since lost count of the amount of perfect games he has bowled, letting everyone know just how good he actually is.
His affinity for the pins has since led him and his wife into starting a 50/50 Foundation that is focused on “providing youth in the community with the support needed for success both on and off the field – specifically with resources in the realms of physical activity, nutrition, mental health, and financial literacy.”
They have thrown numerous bowling tournaments and events for the organization since then.
His love for the sport hasn’t stopped there.
Last month, Betts bought the first announced team in the new World Bowling League, naming it Team OMG.
Bowling and baseball, that’s Mookie Betts.
And the sport he’ll eventually be going into the Hall of Fame for, may not even be his best one.
