The grass certainly looks to be greener away from Old Trafford for Antony.

The Brazilian continued his fine start to life at Real Betis following his loan move from Manchester United with another goal in his side’s Europa Conference League win over Gent on Thursday,

Antony opened the scoring in the 47th-minute, cutting in from the right before curling a left-footed effort into the far corner as Betis claimed a 3-0 victory.

The strike was the 24-year-old’s second for the LaLiga outfit, after also netting in their previous match, a 3-2 defeat to Celta Vigo.

Having also laid on an assist on his debut, Antony current form is in stark contrast to his time with the Red Devils.

Despite United paying £86million to sign him from Ajax in 2022, the Brazil international has struggled to make his mark, and has just 17 goal contributions in 96 games for the club.

Prior to his loan move, he had made eight Premier League appearances this term, all of which were off the bench, with his only goal coming in a 7-0 EFL Cup win over Barnsley

But Antony now looks to be back to his best after reviving his career in Spain.

So much so in fact, that he has already matched fellow United loanee Jadon Sancho‘s numbers for the entire season in a matter of weeks.

Sancho joined Chelsea on loan in the summer after falling out of favour at Old Trafford, and has gone on to score twice in 22 appearances for the Blues this term.

Despite being outscored by his parent club teammate however, the Englishman currently leads the way in assists, setting up six goals so far this term, four of which have been in the league.

One thing that is for sure, is that both players look to be loving life away from the Red Devils.

Sancho has made no secret of his feelings towards United, recently causing a stir online after recently describing Marcus Rashford‘s loan move away from the club as ‘Freedom’.

The former Borussia Dortmund winger endured a difficult time at his parent club, scoring just 12 times in 83 games, and was frozen out following a public falling-out with former boss Erik ten Hag,

And Antony certainly looks to share a similar stance to Sancho, who shared just how much he is enjoying his new surroundings.

Speaking after Betis’ latest win, the winger said: “In my heart I knew that I would be very happy at Betis, I was sure about that,”

“This win goes for the fans, they never stop supporting us.”

The former Ajax man will now be looking to continue his fine form in LaLiga, as he looks to help Betis build on their current 12th place standing in the table.

And his impressive stint in Andalusia has already prompted the club to consider extending the Brazilian’s stay.

Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon recently revealed that the door has been opened to Antony continuing his spell into next season, with his Old Trafford contract running until June 2027.

When asked if Antony could remain in Spain, Alarcon told Cadena Ser radio: “Yes, I think so.

“The other day the CEO of United called me. We sent them details of the player throughout the week so they can see we’re looking after their asset.

“We have very good chemistry with United and the player, who is happy here. It is a possibility that he will continue next season, why not?”
