The curtains for the first edition of the Stuart Lubwama cup will majestically be brought down at the historic Works playground in Entebbe Division A on Sunday,22nd December 2024.

This comes after three months of grueling action through both divisions of Entebbe; A and B.

On the climaxing day, there will be a netball gala that throws off as early as 10 Am.

This will be spiced up by the two football games on the day; a third place playoff match between Kiwafu Central and Katabi Central at 1 PM in the early kick-off.

Then, the grand finale will epitomize the championship between Mayanzi and Katabi Kitubulu at 3:00 PM.

This tournament is a brainchild of Stuart Lubwama, a teacher by profession who has already openly expressed the desire to stand for the MP seat for Entebbe Municipality on the ticket of National Unity Platform (NUP).

Lubwama yearns to inspire the youth of Entebbe Municipality to revamp the old first administrative capital city of Uganda.

“I want to inspire the youth of Entebbe to take up the responsibility of reigniting Entebbe which was the country’s first capital city. One way is by taking up leadership and also develop, discover, and nurture their talents. Football is one of the activities that bring together our people” Stuart Lubwama notes.

Throughout the championship, a number of playgrounds within Entebbe Municipality have been used as Kiwafu, Kigungu, Bugonga, Katabi Gombolola (Kibira), Nakiwogo and the Works playground.

Kiwafu playground hosted the official opening match between Kiwafu Central and Lugonjo Nakiwogo that ended goal-less amid a capacity crowd that also included NUP top leaders as Fred “Chairman” Nyanzi, Busiro North MP Hon. Paul Nsubuga, among others.
