Ipswich are unbeaten in the last four league encounters against Southampton, winning two and drawing two.
They won this exact fixture last season, in the Championship, 3-2 but things have changed a lot since then with both sides vying for survival rather than promotion.
The Saints have won just once against Ipswich when playing against them in the top-flight, but of course this was a long time ago, last winning in such a game against the Tractor Boys in March 2002.
Ipswich Town and Southampton have both conceded 14 Premier League goals in 2025, the joint most of any side.
The Saints have also faced the most shots on target (34) and have conceded the most xG (12.9).
Which could mean one side can finally come up with the goals they’ve been lacking so far this season, but it’s looking more likely that the odds-on favourites can justify their price in the betting.

Ipswich have picked up just 16 points this season, putting them right into a relegation battle with Wolves and Leicester who have 16 and 17 points respectively.

However, the expectation isn’t for them to necessarily avoid relegation, at least not now, but rather remain a bit more competitive.
But with just three draws and a long losing streak, it’s Ipswich’s turn to try and get some much needed points from a team that have lost over 82% of their games this season.
Liam Delap has been a stand out player for Ipswich in their return to the top-flight.
He’s netted eight goals in just 22 appearances accounting for nearly 40% of all of Ipswich’s goal in the division.
However, he’s also picked up eight yellow cards. The forward’s role has certainly exaggerated that stat as he plays more on the backfoot looking to apply pressure than ever before.
This game will be his opportunity to be at the centre of the action again and also try to cause Southampton to slip up once more.
