Today is one of the biggest days in the NFL.

Legal tampering has begun and X went down.

In other words, the worst thing imaginable for NFL insiders everywhere trying to report breaking news just happened.

Teams are now allowed to contact and begin negotiating contracts with unrestricted free agents.

It’s the start of the Wild West in the NFL.

And the insiders most valuable tool and platform, X, was having trouble working.

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport posted on the social media site, asking anyone if they were able to see his posts.

‘Is this thing on? Fun day for an outage,’ Rapoport uneasily joked.

NFL Redzone host Scott Hanson was also wondering the same thing.

‘So is X down, or what? You guys see this post? Having problems in your area?’

The 33rd Team’s Ari Meirov had difficulties as well.

‘Soooooooooo. Is this thing working?’

Fans joked that this was the worst possible time for the social media giant.

And they were also upset.

‘X being down for free agency will go down as one of the worst atrocities in this nations history,’ one fan joked.

‘Free agency begins and of course Twitter/X is down,’ another frustrated fan commented.

‘This can’t happen on NFL free agency day,’ one more chimed in.

Fortunately, the site has seemed to fix whatever bug and issues it was experiencing, as Rapoport and Meirov have since reported on deals and breaking news.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter, arguably the biggest insider of any sport, didn’t seem to experience any of the troubles that his fellow media members were.

It was business as usual for Schefty, as he started to report deals as soon as the legal tampering window opened at noon ET.

All seems to be right back in the NFL and X world, as the craziness of free agency begins.

But for a moment there, it seemed like the chaos was going to reach the insiders as well.
