IShowSpeed recently appeared on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.
The popular entertainer, who recently came close to beating Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles in a 50m sprint, discussed everything from content creation, to livestreaming, and future ventures.
However, in one of the more light-hearted segments, the larger than life pair went back and forth over two of their most infamous moments.
At first, Speed, real name Darren Jason Watkins Jr, tried to troll the retired three-time Super Bowl winner about his x-rated Instagram Live blunder.
Sharpe, the Hall of Fame former NFL tight end-turned ESPN regular, went uber viral in September after accidentally broadcasting himself enjoying some intimate time with an unknown woman to his 3 million Instagram followers.
The 56-year-old initially said he was ‘hacked’ but later came clean on an emergency ‘Nightcap’ podcast, admitting that it was indeed him.
“Uh, uh, uh,” Speed said, making noises similar to the ones heard on Sharpe’s unfortunate stream.
The ex Broncos and Ravens star burst out laughing, saying he was just trying to get into the streaming business like Speed.
“Nah, not that way,” the 19-year-old warned him.
The First Take analyst then flipped the script on his guest, pointing out his own social media mishap.
“Did you have a mishap?” Sharpe smugly asked, referencing a viral moment where the streamer accidentally exposed himself to his viewers.
“A mishap?” the YouTube star pondered with a wry smile on his face.
“I maybe had a little curve-ball, or whatever,” he went on to admit. “A little something.”
“So me and you got a lot in common then!” Sharpe exclaimed.
“No, you were caught in an act. I wasn’t caught in an act,” Speed replied.
“Hold on. Did they see me or did they see you?” Shannon argued. “Or did they see it? I’m just trying to figure it out.”
“Yours was worse!” Speed responded. “You was making noises, you was in it.”
“You’re trying to downplay yours. You’re trying to minimize yours,” a creasing Sharpe fired back.
Fans were loving the candid conversation, praising both men for being so open about their embarrassing mistakes.
“They’re really having a controversy-off during their sit-down. I’m dead,” posted one fan on X.
“Speed was most definitely worse,” said another.
“Lmao, Speed never misses an opportunity to bring up something wild! That incident will forever be a meme,” a third wrote.
“The fact both of them have been leaked…,” joked a fourth.
IShowSpeed has become a streaming sensation over recent years.
He has filmed content with the likes of Logan Paul, Manny Pacquiao and Paul Pogba, impressing many an icon with his athletic prowess.
The social media star has proven himself on multiple occasions, and now the teenager who used to work as a food server at a caretaker’s home wants to test his mettle against the NFL’s best.
When Sharpe asked him if he wanted to go to the NFL Combine and test himself against the best college prospects in the country, Speed confidently replied, “yes sir. I am serious.”
“When I know I’m faster than somebody and people are like, ‘Oh my God they [draft prospects] are so fast!’ I’m like, no. They’re not fast,” Speed went on.
“I ran a 4.4 [in the 40-yard dash] flat last time — and I stopped a little bit. I could maybe run like a 4.3.”
“Listen, all the DBs out there, Jaylen Ramsey, whoever, I am cooking.”
Speed’s words may seem outlandish, but given he’s already ‘cooked’ New York Jets star Sauce Gardner — one of the NFL’s best cornerbacks — his confidence might not be as misplaced as it seems.
