However, he will begin his national team career with a different country to his father.

Louis has been named in a training squad by the Czech Republic Under-18s.

Despite being born in Turin, Italy, the teenager is eligible for the Czech Republic through his mother, Alena Seredova.

Alena and Buffon were married between 2011 and 2014, having dated for six years prior to tying the knot.

During that time, Louis was born along with his younger brother David Lee.

Louis will join up with the Czech Under-18 squad for a training camp in Pisek next week.

He could then be involved in their upcoming matches against England and France next month.

QPR youngster Timothy Akindileni has also been named in the 23-man squad by manager Vaclav Jilek.

Louis’ selection comes despite his dad winning 176 caps for Italy during his illustrious career.

Buffon was also part of the 2006 World Cup-winning squad along with making 657 Serie A appearances for Juventus and Parma.

His club career included 10 league titles with Juve as well as a spell in France with Paris Saint-Germain.

Since retiring aged 45 in 2023, Buffon has been a member of the national team’s backroom staff.

Meanwhile, his son is now forging his own career with Serie B side Pisa.

Louis was recently promoted to the first-team by his dad’s ex-team-mate Filippo Inzaghi.

The former AC Milan striker included Louis in the squad for Pisa’s league clash with Cesena on Sunday.

However, the midfielder was an unused substitute in a 1-1 draw away from home.
