Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist may be two of the finest footballers Scotland has produced – but they’re not qualified to dish out personal advice.

That’s the view of not only themselves, but talkSPORT legend Laura Woods, who returned to the Breakfast Show to catch up with her old mates.

Woods was back on the talkSPORT Breakfast show – but she didn’t get the marriage advice she was seeking

Woods left her role as the Breakfast Show host in June 2023 to embark on new adventures.

In the time since, she has got engaged to ex-Love Island contestant Adam Collard, with the happy couple expecting their first child.

And Rangers icon McCoist was keen for colleague Brazil to offer Woods some much-needed advice as she plans to juggle a new-born baby with married life.

But it’s safe to say the former Manchester United, Tottenham and Ipswich man didn’t have much to say in a hilarious exchange between the trio on Wednesday morning.

Turning to Brazil in the hope he could impart some wisdom, a hopeful McCoist asked: “I’m just wondering Al, have you got any advice for Laura?

“Obviously with the baby coming along and marriage.

“I know Laura was wanting some information and some advice from you, I can tell.”

But unfortunately for Woods, there was nothing she could take on board from what the two-time UEFA Cup winner had to say.

Brazil quipped: “I was a bit like you Al, I was never there!

“Do you know what I mean? I’m sorry Laura! I’m old-fashioned, that was Jill’s job.

Brazil was quick in joking to Woods that he was barely at home during the early stage of his marriage

“We were travelling everywhere, so all the best Laura!”

Loving the honesty, a laughing Woods replied: “You know what? I did think, ‘Who is the best person in that room to ask for marriage advice for a start?’

“And I thought, ‘I’m not going to get the best advice there. Maybe not either!’”

McCoist was then quick to joke that the only person worse to ask from talkSPORT would be Sports Bar co-host Jamie O’Hara – only he’s currently on vacation.

He remarked: “Woodsy, the only one worse than him and I is stuck in a chairlift in Bulgaria!”

To which Arsenal fan Woods was quick to point out she would never take on board O’Hara’s advice – before light-heartedly thanking McCoist and Brazil for nothing.

She simply stated: “I’ve heard enough about The Chunk’s [O’Hara] love life to last me a lifetime!

“So you know what? I think I’ll figure it out for myself guys, thank you though.”
