Dubois shocked the boxing world with a sensational win over favourite Joshua in a heavyweight battle at Wembley Stadium, dropping him four times in a stoppage demolition.

It has been a sensational year for ‘Dynamite’ who has beaten Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic on a charge to his IBF title since the closing stages of December 2023.
And talkSPORT boxing host Oliver believes Dubois’ success has been nothing short of remarkable and backed him to win one boxing’s most prestigious awards.
“If you look at the 14 months that Daniel Dubois has had with [trainer] Don Charles he has been brilliant,” he began on the latest episode of talkBOXING.
“Daniel Dubois surely has to be fighter of the year. The fights that he has had he has been underdog in all of them.
“He’s come through them all with flying colours and that last performance was sensational.
“Tactically he got spot on and went out there right from the ring walk and got it bang on, what a performance.
“Don Charles [Dubois’ trainer] has been a big part of that and credit to him he’s done a great job.”
There is a number of contenders in the running for the gong, which is handed out by Ring magazine and won most recently by Naoya Inoue.
Terence Crawford scored a huge win to become a four-weight world champion edging Israil Madrimov to pick up a title at super-welterweight.
Canelo Alvarez, who won it in 2021, has picked up two solid wins in 2024 having ousted Jaime Munguia and Edgar Berlanga to keep hold of his super-middleweight world titles.

Two alternative contenders lie in the shape of Jesse Ban Rodriguez, a rising pay-per-view star and pound-for-pound-star Inoue who has picked up two wins in another impressive year.
Other than Dubois, the favourite comes in his previous conqueror Oleksandr Usyk who became undisputed champion by beating Tyson Fury in May.
He could cement that status with a rematch win over the ‘Gypsy King’ in December, which would see him remain undefeated.
It is no doubt Dubois is earning plaudits as he appears to have set up a shot with the winner of that clash.
‘Dynamite’ put on a devastating performance of power to win over the home crowd, and is now likely to have a busy and lucrative 2025.
Several options will be on the table which could even include a second meeting with AJ, who has dismissed retiring from the sport.
The 27-year-old is open to both contests, and is simply wanting to fight his way back to the top.
