It hasn’t been an easy journey for the ‘Problem Child’ to get to this point, having faced turbulence during his social media career with his brother Logan Paul.
And he revealed in an emotional interview that he lost some huge deals after facing a tirade of hate following his brother’s actions in Japan.
“I got lumped into all my brother’s hate,” he explained to Hollywood Reporter. “It was like, ‘F**k the Pauls.
“F**k both of those people.’ It was bad. The suicide forest thing basically ruined my career and income.
“I lost probably $30million in deals. There was one $15million deal for retail products that fell apart.
“They were able to get out of it because of a morality clause. Basically, life hit me in the face, and it was like, ‘Who are you?
“What have you been doing the past couple of years? It led to drinking and drugs and going to parties and just that whole entire world.
“I got sucked up into it really quickly. But [boxing], it’s purpose, routine, health, community — all the things I needed.
“Since 2020, it’s been boxing’s number one and everything else comes after that.
“I never really liked YouTube. I was just good at it.”

Paul’s brother Logan filmed a video in Japan’s ‘Suicide Forest’ which sparked huge controversy and saw the pair losing several contracts with big brands.
But the YouTube boxer has been able to restore his reputation and has been on a remarkable run of lucrative fights since stepping into the ring.
Paul has suggested his earnings from the sweet science are set to exceed $100 million, with bouts against Nate Diaz and Tommy Fury providing huge revenue.
His latest fight against Tyson represents another big payday, with the pair set to headline the At&T Stadium in Texas in front of 80,000 fans.
And Paul explained exactly why he has now chosen to face the power-punching veteran next.
“In all seriousness Mike, it is such an honour and I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to step in the ring with one of the two most famous people to step in the boxing ring.
“Not only will this be the biggest fight of my life, but I think this has the opportunity to change the history of boxing, and be one of the biggest events of the 21st century.
“It is the biggest moment of my career and the biggest challenge.
“Everyone has said, ‘Don’t get in the ring with Mike he is too hard of a puncher. But I want to prove them wrong.’”
