Jake Paul intends to spend the millions he earned by fighting Mike Tyson on a significant investment.
‘Iron Mike’ looked every one of his 58 years as he laboured to a unanimous decision defeat over the eight-round distance.
And although both men left a lot to be desired inside the ring, there is no doubting the commercial success of the event.
The Most Valuable Promotions and Netflix show – co-headlined by a superb undisputed super lightweight title fight between Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor – was the biggest gate for any combat sports event outside of Las Vegas in U.S. history.
Over 72,300 fans flooded into the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas to watch the clash, generating $18.1million (£14.3m)in total revenue.
Meanwhile, a remarkable 108 million global viewers tuned in to watch it from home via Netflix, peaking at 65 million concurrent streams.
According to TVision, 56 per cent of all US TV viewing between 12am and 1am EST was the Paul vs Tyson fight while the event garnered over 1.4 billion impressions across Netflix’s global social media channels.
Paul pocketed $40m (£31.5m) for the bout before even taking into consideration the millions more he would have earned in bonuses and endorsements.
He didn’t tell his brother Logan Paul the exact amount he earned in total.
But he revealed it was the largest payday he has ever earned during a recent appearance on the Impaulsive Podcast.
Asked what he intends to spend his purse on, Paul replied: “Probably a ranch, a big piece of property and I’m going to pimp it out.”
Paul’s property empire already includes a $16m (£12.6m) Puerto Rican compound and a six-bedroom property in Henderson, on the outskirts of Las Vegas, which he paid £2.5m for.
He used to live in Los Angeles, but moved to Puerto Rico in 2021 to get away from the distractions and focus on his boxing career.
His brother Logan also lives on the Caribbean island and has a seven-bedroom mansion worth £11m.
In the end, the move worked out for both siblings, who have gone on to achieve lucrative careers in their respective sports.
While Jake is an 11-1 professional boxer, who has earned well over $100m ($78.9m) from his fights, Logan rakes in $3m a year from his long-term WWE contract.
Asked if he would ever consider crossing over to wrestling to join forces with Logan, Jake said: “I would love [to come to the WWE].
“But I would want to be your Paul Heyman (manager).
“I wouldn’t want to wrestle so much, I could do some s***, but I want to be your sidekick businessman.”
But before that happens, Jake has his eyes firmly set on winning a world title in boxing.
And the ex-Disney actor could get a shot quicker than expected having been presented with three offers following his win over Tyson.
Russia’s unbeaten knockout artist Artur Beterbiev has offered Paul a shot at his undisputed light-heavyweight titles.
Meanwhile IBF heavyweight king Daniel Dubois called out the American in a private message.
And WBC bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena is also willing to trade blows with Paul.
