Jake Paul has been warned that the extra padding in his and Mike Tyson’s gloves won’t help him in their upcoming clash.
Tyson and Paul are set to square off on November 15 in a professional heavyweight contest at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

However, their fight will take place under a modified rule set.
Paul and Tyson will box over eight, two-minute rounds, rather than the traditional three minutes and they will duke it out in 14oz gloves instead of the 10oz mitts pros usually wear.
The expectation would be the heavier the gloves, the less likely a knockout is to occur.
But Hall of Fame boxing referee Richard Steele, who officiated six of Tyson’s fights, has issued some cautionary words to Paul ahead of fight night.
“That’s still a small glove thinking about the power of Mike Tyson,” he told USA Today.
“I don’t see the guy going that distance with Tyson. Because Tyson, he’s so strong and he’s an ex-champion.
“He knows what he’s doing and for two minutes… he can go all out.”
Tyson recently celebrated his 58th birthday but Steele is confident he still has enough left in the tank to cause his 27-year-old foe real problems after watching the former undisputed heavyweight champion’s age-defying workout videos.
“He’s still dangerous,” Steele added. “He has so much power…
“I just hope he don’t end up getting hurt or hurt the other guy.”
Tyson was in top shape for his split draw against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020GETTY
Tyson hasn’t competed in the paid ranks since retiring on his stool against Kevin McBride in 2005.
Given his inactivity and his advanced age, several medical professionals have come out and warned ‘Iron Mike’ about the potential health implications he faces by returning to the ring against a man 31 years his junior.
Senior Lecturer in Medicine at Anglia Ruskin University, Stephen Hughes, highlighted the potentially fatal injuries Tyson could suffer in an article for The Conversation.
“In older people, the brain tends to lose volume,” Hughes explained.
“This lengthens the bridging veins and makes them more vulnerable to rupture.
“Bleeding from these torn veins causes a collection of blood that presses on the brain. This causes confusion, loss of consciousness, neurological disability and, in some cases, death…
“Alcoholism is known to accelerate brain shrinkage, and it appears that Tyson has this as a past risk factor.”
But regardless of the controversy Paul vs Tyson promises to be one of the most viewed sports events of the 21st Century, with the fight being broadcast free to existing Netflix subscribers.
Netflix boasts around 282million paid subscribers and that number is expected to grow as fight night approaches.
