Jon Jones has confirmed rumours he was once knocked out in sparring by Russian MMA star Adlan Amagov.

Earlier this year, former UFC welterweight Carlos Condit revealed to the Jaxxon Podcast that Amagov dropped Jones with a spinning back kick.

“He was a spinning back kick guy and he f***** me up,” Condit recalled.

“And then I think a round or two later, he hit Jon with that spinning back kick and he dropped him.”

Two-weight UFC champion Jones has never touched the canvas during an illustrious 28-1 career.

However, he admits Amagov decked him in sparring.

Speaking to one of Amagov’s friends in broken English, Jones said: “Adlan Amagov KO’d me, very true story.

“Spinning back kick, boom, me down.

“It’s okay, sometimes it happens. But next time…”

Asked if Condit suffered the same fate, Jones replied: “One day, Carlos Condit and me, Adlan, two people.”

Amagov compiled a 14-2-1 pro MMA record before walking away from the sport at his peak.

In 2012, after an impressive run in Strikeforce that included a win over future UFC light heavyweight title contender Anthony Smith, Amagov signed with the UFC.

He outclassed Chris Spang in his promotional debut before flattening TJ Waldburger in his second fight under the UFC banner.

UFC president Dana White was a big fan of Amagov’s and was keen to keep him on his roster.

But ‘Borz’ stunned MMA fans by choosing to step away from the sport at just 27 years old.

Explaining his decision, Amagov said: “My dream was to learn how to fight, of course, there were many things to achieve, to become a UFC champion, for example.

“But when I first started, I didn’t have those ambitions.

“I fought in Strikeforce, I fought in the UFC, I achieved everything I wanted.

“I thought about it and decided to step away from professional MMA.”

Three years later, Amagov made a surprise return to the sport to compete in a regional MMA show.

He won the bout via submission, but he never competed again.
