Juventus will eventually be defeated by someone this season, but whoever ends their unbeaten run will have to work extremely hard for their victory.
After 10 games across all competitions, Thiago Motta is yet to be on the wrong end of a negative result. The former Bologna boss has got Juventus fans believing they can win the major prizes again.
By their own high standards, Juventus have not had a great deal to cheer about in recent times. In the last four seasons they have not finished above third in Serie A, while it is now more than five years since their last appearance in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
There have been a couple of Coppa Italia triumphs in that time, but that is not enough to sate the appetite of a club whose motto translates as: “winning is not important, it’s the only thing that counts”.
It remains to be seen whether Juventus will be able to better the likes of Napoli and Inter in Serie A or duke it out with the big boys in the Champions League, but the early signs from Thiago Motta’s tenure are broadly positive.
Of course, there is still work to do. Juventus have won four and drawn four of their eight Serie A games. At times they have struggled to turn possession and control into clear-cut chances.
But in the Champions League especially, Juventus fans have seen plenty they like. A home game against PSV on matchday one looked like a potential banana skin, but the Bianconeri breezed to a 3-1 win.
Even more impressive was a 3-2 defeat of RB Leipzig away from home at the beginning of this month. That result would have stood out anyway, but it was an even better feat when you realise Juventus had to play with 10 men for more than half an hour after Michele Di Gregorio was sent off.
Two wins from two have put Juventus in a strong position in the revamped league phase of the tournament.
Another victory here will have them believing they can finish in the top eight and advance automatically to the round of 16. Stuttgart will have something to say about that, however.

Juventus are the bookies’ favourites to beat Stuttgart when the pair go head-to-head on Tuesday.

Stuttgart have experienced mixed feelings in the Champions League so far. Before things got under way, they were just happy to be involved having almost been relegated to the second tier of German football in 2022/23.
A spirited showing in a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid on matchday one would have convinced Stuttgart that they belong at this level, but a 1-1 home draw with Slavia Prague last time out was a disappointment.

As we have already established, it is tough to get the better of this Juventus side, who have adapted very quickly to Thiago Motta’s demands.

Yet while the Bianconeri are undoubtedly easier on the eye these days, they have not abandoned their defensive rigour.
In eight Serie A games in 2024/25, Thiago Motta’s men have had their backline breached on just one occasion. Stuttgart, who lost 4-0 to Bayern Munich at the weekend, will have their work cut out in attacking areas.
This looks like it could be an intriguing match, but it will not necessarily feature a large number of goals.

Arsenal fans may have noticed that Dusan Vlahovic is once again being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Vlahovic’s contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in 2026. Unless he puts pen to paper on extended terms, Juventus could look to cash in at the end of this season.
For now, Vlahovic will be fully focused on scoring goals for a club he has represented since January 2022.
The Serbia international has beaten opposition goalkeepers seven times in 10 matches so far this season, including a brace in that fantastic victory over RB Leipzig.
The striker now has his sights set on Stuttgart as the German side head to Turin this week.
