Kayla Harrison expressed her concern to Nina-Marie Daniele over thigh bruises she picked up from sparring with Alex Pereira.
Daniele is a UFC content creator, who regularly features the current light heavyweight champion in her videos.

She took to social media at the beginning of October to show the effects of a Pereira leg kick.
In her post, Daniele said that Pereira only used ‘1% power’ and that she couldn’t imagine what ‘100% Chama power to the head feels like’.
“I mean, for the love of God it gets worse everyday. I have bruises under my leg,” she added in the video.
Pereira’s first language is Portuguese and he’s been known to use the word ‘chama’ regularly with the media. It translates to ‘let’s go’ or ‘come on’ when being used as slang.
In an interview this week with UFC star Harrison, Daniele discussed her war wounds.
“That was f***** up,” Harrison said, before Daniele replied saying Pereira ‘barely’ touched her.
“Do you bruise easily? Do you have enough iron?” Harrison added, while revealing that she also experienced something similar when training with Pereira.
“He has that [power], I trained with him too and we were like drilling a kick. I mean, he’s also like a 230-pound man and you’re demure,” Harrison said.
Harrison is a former Olympic Gold medallist and current No.2 ranked women’s bantamweight, behind champion Julianna Pena and Raquel Pennington.
She was victorious over Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307 in October on the undercard of Pereira’s win over Khalil Rountree Jr.

Her win over Vieira was only her second bout in Dana White’s promotion since debuting in April 2024.
Harrison revealed her victory at UFC 307 was at risk of not happening having made a trip to the hospital pre-fight.
She submitted MMA veteran Holly Holm in the second round of her debut at UFC 300, which was also headlined by Pereira, who knocked out Jamahal Hill within round one.
The former Olympian won Gold as part of the women’s judo team representing the United States at London 2012 and Rio 2016.
In the co-main event at UFC 307, Pena was crowned the new women’s bantamweight champion after a controversial split-decision win over Pennington.
Pena ignored Harrison in her post-fight octagon interview, instead calling out former champion Amanda Nunes.
Nunes retired from MMA after beating Irene Aldana in June 2023 as the champion of both the bantamweight and featherweight.
UFC President Dana White said he would ‘absolutely love’ Nunes to make a return to his organisation.
