Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX performance might have broken records on Sunday night, but it didn’t impress Noel Gallagher.

The NFL, Roc Nation and Apple Music announced on Tuesday (February 11) that the rapper’s Halftime Show is the most watched of all time.

“We’ve broken the record again! The most watched Apple Music Halftime show EVER, with 133.5 million viewers,” a statement, shared across social media, read.

Lamar’s halftime show performance even drew a larger audience than the Super Bowl itself, which Fox Sports reported had an average of 126 million viewers.

However, Oasis frontman Gallagher didn’t enjoy it, and told talkSPORT he ‘wasn’t interested’.

“I had to switch it off… it was absolute nonsense,” the rock star, who has sold more than 100 million records worldwide with Oasis, told Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent.

“I didn’t watch it all. I just switched it off. There were like 300 people getting out of a car in the first two minutes.”

When pressed on his favorite halftime performances, Gallagher revealed that he rarely tunes into the shows.

“I don’t like the halftime nonsense and all that. It’s usually artists I don’t like,” he said.

“The Super Bowl, I do like watching it. (But the halftime show) I never watch it. I’m not interested.”

Gallagher’s brutal assessment of Lamar’s halftime show is likely to sting for the American rapper, who is believed to be a fan of Oasis.

He has been pictured wearing the band’s ‘Supersonic’ T-shirt on a number of occasions, including on-stage and in the studio.

Last year, there were even rumors that Oasis were set to join him for a reunion as surprise guests at the halftime show.

In September, a supposed set list was shared on X, which included the newly-reunited Oasis on the bill.

While most users dismissed the image as fake, Liam Gallagher himself took to the comments section to tease fans.

“How’s that leaked ffs?” he joked.

The image did turn out to be fake, of course, and while Oasis didn’t appear at the Super Bowl in New Orleans, Lamar was joined by a number of other surprise guests.

Samuel L. Jackson, SZA and Serena Williams all joined the rapper on stage, and perhaps contributed to the record-breaking viewing figures.

With 133.5 million viewes, Lamar has edged out Michael Jackson’s legendary 1993 performance, which drew 133.4 million viewers.

The 22-time Grammy Award winner also got more eyes than last year’s headliner Usher, who had 123.4 million viewers.

Away from the halftime entertainment, the Philadelphia Eagles secured their second Super Bowl with a 40-22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.
