The famous myth says lightning does not strike the same place twice, but it just did in Ugandan rugby on back-to-back matchdays.
Round Five. Pirates v Heathens at Kings Park. The away team leads 17-09 at halftime. The home team wins 33-31 at fulltime.
Round Six. KOBs v Pirates at Legends. The away team leads 22-09 at halftime. The home team wins 30-28 at fulltime.

A clutch Josaiah Ssempeke drop goal in the last play completed KCB KOBs’ breathtaking comeback against archrivals Stanbic Black Pirates at Legends Rugby Club.
Unlike in round five where both teams were erroneous and capitalised on their mistakes to swing the momentum, round six’s clash was an amazing display of tactical rugby.
Pirates kept their hosts at bay in the first half and scored three well-worked tries through Sydney Gongodyo, Jeremiah Okello and Timothy Kisiga in open channels out wide. William Nkore was clinical off the kicking tee with seven points.
KOBs only managed three penalties, kicked by eventual man-of-the-match Joseph Aredo.
But the tables turned in the second half.
KOBs restricted their visitors to two penalties, kicked by Nkore and Ivan Magomu.
Aredo and Stuart Mwayi touched down within close quarters. Mwayi’s try; an individual effort by the youngster to catch Pirates’ defence napping on the quick restart.
Aredo kicked a conversion and two penalties as KOBs trailed Pirates by one point in the last play.
Then Josaiah Ssempeke stepped up — yet again having rescued KOBs from Pirates twice before — with the drop goal to seal the victory.
The result marks the end of Pirates’ unbeaten run and drops them to second place in the standings. They are tied with KOBs on points but KOBs is third due to points difference.
