Kylian Mbappe’s blistering form for Real Madrid means he has already emulated a feat achieved by the club’s greatest stars.

The Frenchman has quickly found his shooting boots for the La Liga side having failed to find the net in his opening three La Liga matches.

Mbappe now appears to be settling into his new surroundings and forming an ominous on-field relationship with fellow stars Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham and Rodrygo.

The 25-year-old’s goal in Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over Alaves was his fifth goal in seven La Liga games – a statistic also achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Mbappe and Ronaldo are joined by Bellingham, Ferenc Puskas, Ramon Marsal and Alfredo Di Stefano as the only players to have scored five goals or more in their first seven LaLiga games for the club.

The Portuguese netted ten goals and one assist in his first ten games with the Spanish giants, averaging a goal per game.

Whereas Mbappe has scored seven goals and provided one assist in nine matches in nine matches in all competitions to record similar numbers to the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

In addition, the World Cup winner netted in Real Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup victory over Atalanta in August and opened his Champions League account for the club in last week’s 3-1 win at home to Stuttgart.

His prolific run of form has not been enough to fire Real Madrid to the top of the LaLiga table.

That achievement goes to Barcelona who under Hansi Flick, have recorded a 100 percent start to the season with seven-consecutive wins.

Mbappe and co sit four-points adrift of their bitter rivals having drawn two of their opening seven fixtures.

Cristiano Ronaldo was quick off the mark for Real Madrid and went on to score 450 goals for the club

It all makes for a mouthwatering clash between the sides at the Santiago Bernabeu on October 26.

Up first for Los Blancos is the Madrid derby at neighbours Atletico on Sunday which will see England teammates Bellingham and Conor Gallagher go head-to-head.

The match poses Real with their first big challenge of the season having lost on their previous two visits to the Metropolitano.

To make matters worse, top scorer Mbappe will be missing for the clash after suffering a thigh injury in Tuesday’s clash.

He is also set to miss next week’s Champions League tie at Lille and the LaLiga meeting with Villarreal on October 5.

A club statement issued on Wednesday read: “Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.”
