Quincy Olivari used to help his mother deliver birthday cakes to basketball’s most popular show, TNT’s Inside the NBA.
Now he’s playing for the Los Angeles Lakers on opening night.

Life comes at you fast.
And for Olivari, it happened in the blink of an eye.
The undrafted guard out of Xavier, was picked up by the Lakers to participate on their Summer League team, before being signed to an Exhibit 10 contract before training camp started.
At the conclusion of the preseason, the Lakers converted his contract into a two-way contract.
Officially making Olivari a member of the 2024-2025 Los Angeles Lakers.
And for Olivari, that’s all he ever wanted.
“I just want a job in the NBA,” Olivari told reporters after the Lakers last preseason game.
A day later, his wish came true.
Now, just hours before the season begins, Olivari’s mom wants to make sure that the guys over on Inside the NBA give her son the proper recognition, because according to her, they all should be familiar with the young Olivari.
He used to help deliver birthday cakes to TNT’s set with his mother when he was a young boy.
Now he is teammates with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, looking to help them win an NBA championship.
And he couldn’t be more excited.
“I can’t wait to show my Qdini magic to the Los Angeles faithful,” Olivari told ESPN’s NBA Today earlier today.

The Lakers are looking to get last season’s disappointing finish, losing to the Denver Nuggets in the first round in five games, out of everyone’s mind, as James and Davis look to capture their second title together.
With James turning 40 years old in December, time is running out in his pursuit of Michael Jordan‘s six championship rings.
Currently sitting at four himself, he’s not going to have many opportunities left.
ESPN’s Shams Charania reported that James will play at least two more seasons, with eyes on a potential third, but nothing is guaranteed at this point.
James and the Lakers will gladly take any ‘Qdini magic’ that Olivari can provide.
From looking up to guys like Steph Curry and delivering birthday cakes to Shaquille O’Neal, to now being on the biggest basketball stage in the world, Olivari is living his dream.
A dream he hopes he never wakes up from.
