An iconic British band is reportedly set to become the latest big artist to adorn the front of Barcelona’s jersey against Real Madrid.
As part of Barcelona‘s partnership with music streaming giants Spotify, which they signed in July 2022, the Spanish giants have featured the logos of several major musicians on their shirt.

Canadian rapper Drake, the Rolling Stones, Karol G and Rosalia have all had their respective names in place of the Spotify logo on the front of Barcelona’s kit for an El Clasico.
Now Coldplay are reportedly in line to become the fifth artist to be featured on the iconic shirt.
Spanish outlet Sport reports Coldplay will replace the Spotify logo for the El Clasico on October 27 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Fans will also be able to purchase the shirts after the game.
It coincides with the release of Coldplay’s 10th album, titled ‘Moon Music’, which goes live on October 4.
The kit sponsorship wouldn’t be Coldplay’s first link with Barcelona, either.
The band performed at Barcelona’s temporary home, the Estadio Olimpic Lluis Company, in May last year.
Additionally, Coldplay’s song ‘Viva La Vida’ was adopted by Barcelona as a celebratory tune during the highly successful era under Pep Guardiola.
The song was also played after Barcelona’s final game at the Camp Nou before they commenced renovations.
In an interview with Catalunya Radio, Coldplay guitarist Johnny Buckland opened up on what Barcelona’s adoption of ‘Viva La Vida’ meant to the band.
“I was aware of Barca and I remember reading about it in those days and thinking, how incredible, because they were the best team on the planet at that time and played football from another galaxy, and it’s interesting because this song really took shape in Barcelona,” Buckland said.
“We love playing it, especially here where it was born and where it has such a special meaning.”
Barcelona will hope Coldplay can inspire them to victory in the next instalment of El Clasico given Real Madrid have won seven of the last nine instalments.

Los Blancos also enjoyed a clean sweep over Barcelona last season as superstar midfielder Jude Bellingham scored stoppage time winners both home and away to give Carlo Ancelotti‘s side the bragging rights.
However, Barcelona have enjoyed the better form this season and sit four points clear ahead of Real Madrid in LaLiga having won six from six.
Hansi Flick’s side have banged in 22 goals as well, nine more than Real Madrid.
However, they suffered a losing start to their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 defeat away to Monaco.
