LeBron James had some choice words for an LA Lakers teammate, but his historic performance proved he had every right to speak up.
The Lakers remained perfect from three games thanks to a 131-127 win over the Sacramento Kings, with a monster 44-point fourth quarter proving pivotal.
James sparked the Lakers into life against SacramentoGetty
James, at 39 years of age and in his 22nd NBA season, led the way for the Lakers with a triple-double as he recorded 32 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists.
Anthony Davis also played a starring role for the Lakers as he dropped 31 points.
But the night belonged to James, especially for the way he helped the Lakers explode in that thrilling fourth quarter.
In fact, James broke new NBA ground as he became the first player in league history with 15+ points, 5+ rebounds and 5+ assists along with 100 per cent accuracy on field goals in a single quarter.
What made the record-breaking feat even more impressive was the fact he did it in the final period.
James was also fully aware he was cooking up some magic when he ripped into Lakers teammate Rui Hachimura for not passing him the ball.
Davis drove towards the basket but kicked it out to Hachimura, who raced towards the basket before he pulled up to take a shot inside the arc under pressure.
However, James was not a fan of Hachimura’s decision-making as the broadcast picked up exactly what the 39-year-old thought.
“Yo, Rui,” James said.
“Swing that mother****** to me. I just made ten in a row and you’re gonna take a pull-up contested two?
“Swing, swing, mother******.
Granted, it could be seen as a selfish spray, but given James’ perfect accuracy in the fourth quarter, perhaps the icon was more than justified.
The Lakers had started the contest brightly and built a 15-point lead but the Kings had cut the deficit to just four points at halftime.
Sacramento’s momentum continued into the third quarter and were even up by seven points.
But James took hold of the contest and drained 16 points in the fourth to help steer the Lakers to victory.
The win also meant JJ Redick is yet to taste defeat in his rookie season as Lakers head coach.
Redick’s team now shift their attention towards a game against the Trail Blazers while the Kings look to secure their first win of the season against the Phoenix Suns.
