This is a huge game for Leeds as every single one will be with only five games left in the campaign to seal the title.

Going into the weekend they lead the table only on goal difference but Burnley may set the standard with a win on Friday night to ramp the pressure up.

The pressure is on regardless though and it’s up to Leeds to just match them stride for stride now.

They have been in similar positions before and struggled in the run-in but this year looks different and they should be able to acquire at least top two now that Sheffield United have lost two in a row and now sit two points adrift of the top two.

Preston are down in 16th position and have mostly stayed above danger with a staggering 19 draws from 41 games.

A draw won’t really be enough for Leeds and will be aiming for a win from the offset.

Leeds are strong favourites to win this and are tough to side with at such a short price.

With just four losses so far this season Leeds will be strong in the final five games and this should be no different given that Leeds have lost just one of their last seven league games against Preston North End since a 2-1 defeat at Deepdale in December 2023.

However in those six it’s equally split with draws and wins.

Away from home for Preston North End is another story too, having won just one of their last 12 away league clashes since 1963.

Four have ended in a draw and seven ended with Leeds taking all three points.

One thing for sure is that Leeds could go into this with the pressure that they cannot lose.

As a result, they could be prone to drawing and that wouldn’t be surprising against a side who’ve nearly drawn 50% of their games this season.

Piroe has just bypassed his tally from last year by a goal, with 15 in 41 appearances while also adding more assists to his game.

Jakobsen has been consistent for Preston scoring ten goals this season which isn’t his best tally but in the run-in could see more as plenty of different scorers are cropping up for Preston recently.
