Leicester City vs Arsenal predictions

The Foxes and the Gunners meet in the 12.30 live TV slot on Matchday 25 of the Premier League.

Leicester City are stuck in the bottom three. They first dropped into the relegation zone on Matchday 18 following a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool on Boxing Day.

The Foxes did briefly manage to climb out of the drop zone following their 2-1 win over Spurs on Matchday 23.

But another defeat (they lost 4-0 to Everton) on Matchday 24, coupled with Wolves beating Aston Villa 2-0, means the Foxes started 0the current match week in 18th place.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester are now ten points from safety. They have just 14 matches remaining. If they are going to survive, the revival has to start now.

The problem is that Leicester have little form to speak of. They have picked up just three points from their last nine matches.

Leicester failed to build on their 2-1 win over Spurs, conceding four in their following fixture against an Everton team that has struggled for goals all season.

The Foxes did put up a good showing in their latest outing. Van Nistelrooy’s team pushed Manchester United all the way at Old Trafford in the FA Cup 4th Round.

But, it ultimately ended in failure. Leicester old boy Harry Maguire condemned his former employers to a 2-1 defeat with a dubious winner after 93 minutes.

The only positive is that Leicester can now fully focus on the league.

Arsenal are not the ideal team to be facing if you are desperate for three points. The Gunners are 14 matches unbeaten in the Premier League.

The last time Arsenal suffered a league defeat was against Newcastle United on Matchday 10 on November 2nd.

The Gunners will also be buoyed by Liverpool dropping two points in the dying seconds of the Merseyside derby on Wednesday.

Mikel Arteta’s team now know exactly where they stand with Liverpool’s game in hand finally gone.

It’s still a bleak picture, though. Arsenal start the match week seven points adrift of Liverpool with 42 points left to play for. They are still looking for Liverpool to make mistakes.

The Gunners have also been rocked by the news that Kai Havertz is to miss the rest of the season.

They have long been accused of needing an out-and-out striker, meaning this latest injury will only further increase the criticism.

Arsenal did smash Manchester City 5-1 in their last Premier League outing without a big name striker, so there are positives to take from that performance.

But they then followed that up by failing to land a glove on Newcastle in the 2nd leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. Only further adding to the anguish of their frustrated fans.

Leicester City vs Arsenal betting tips

The Foxes haven’t played for eight days, the Gunners have had a nice ten day break. Both teams should be raring to go. Find out how they will get on in our Leicester vs Arsenal betting tips:

Martin Ødegaard to score or assist

Arsenal are without Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

They are set to have to rely on all or some of Ethan Nwaneri, Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling to fill the forward roles.

Nwaneri is a talent, of that there can be no doubt. Trossard is regarded by plenty of Arsenal fans as the best finisher at the club. While Sterling can be very hit and miss. Of that trio, Trossard to score anytime at 7/5 looks the best bet.

But, Arsenal will need their big players to step up in the absence of their main attackers. And one man who has regularly done that since returning from injury is Martin Ødegaard.

Ødegaard provided an assist in the win over Spurs and he scored in the 5-1 demolition of Manchester City.

We expect a big performance and a goal contribution from the Arsenal skipper at the King Power Stadium.

⚽ Back Martin Ødegaard to score or assist at 11/10 with Betfair ⚽

Arsenal to win and under 4.5 match goals

We already know Arsenal are without the majority of their attacking talent. Therefore, goals will be harder to come by, but not impossible.

The Gunners need to win and the bookmakers fully expect them too, they are just 2/7 to get the three points.

Mikel Arteta’s team will get the goals from somewhere. They had five different scorers in the win over Manchester City, so there are goals throughout the team.

We don’t see a glut of goals – but we do see enough to get Arsenal the win they need.

⚽ Back a win for Arsenal with under 4.5 goals at 4/6 with SBK ⚽

Both teams to score (Yes)

Leicester have lost their last four matches at the King Power Stadium without even scoring a goal. That run surely has to end soon.

Arsenal have conceded in six of their last eight Premier League matches. Furthermore, both teams scored in the reverse fixture on Matchday 6, when the Gunners won 4-2.

It’s not often we see even money for both teams to score in the Premier League. Don’t miss this chance.
