Los Angeles Kings at Vancouver Canucks predictions
On pace for a career year in points, Adrian Kempe finds himself currently leading his team in the goal department. The 28-year-old has lit the lamp on 20 occasions this year and will be looking to snap his two-game goalless run on Thursday.
Looking like a 27-year-old instead of his current age of 37, Anze Kopitar has turned back the clock this season. The 19-year NHL veteran is the Kings’ top point-getter this year with 40 points in 41 games.
It was a merciless evening in the blue paint for Kevin Lankinen versus the Winnipeg Jets. The Canucks goalie allowed six goals on 33 shots he faced. It’s the third time in his last four starts in the crease that Lankinen has finished the game with a save percentage below .900.
One of the club’s bright spots this year is the play from Canucks’ captain, Quinn Hughes. Since returning from injury on January 6, he has registered five points in his last five outings. Overall through 39 games, the superstar defenseman has amassed 47 points, leading the Canucks in that category.
Along with many, Elias Pettersson has had an inconsistent year in this current term. The Swede is statistically on pace for his worst output in a full 82-game NHL season. The 26-year-old has only obtained three points in the last 10 appearances.
Los Angeles Kings at Vancouver Canucks tip
Thursday’s tilt is more about fading the home side where their season is slowly deteriorating with the on-ice product.
Currently, the Canucks, when including OT losses, have lost 14 of their 21 games played at Rogers Arena in the 2024-25 campaign. In Vancouver’s last five games against a Western Conference opponent, they have managed to only garner one win.
The Los Angeles Kings are certainly not road warriors in the league with a 10-14 straight-up record. That said we still feel the Kings are in a good spot taking on a fading opponent.
Los Angeles is one of the better teams wearing down their opposition with their grinding style of hockey. Of late the Kings have had the Canucks number defeating them in five instances over their previous seven encounters.
