- Police vs Maroons – Kavumba 4pm
- URA vs Lugazi – Nakivubo 4pm
Lugazi’s long unbeaten run comes under scrutiny at Nakivubo stadium when they face hosts Lugazi on Thursday.
The newly promoted side are unbeaten in eight matches since replacing coach Sadiq Sempigi but have won just twice in that run.
That run is on litmus as they face a rejuvenated URA that wants to join the title party as the leading pack continues to stumble especially after NEC dropped points at Bul.
Alex Isabirye’s four-time league champions are on 18 points in 5th place, just nine behind NEC who lead the standings although the Bugolobi based club have played one more game.
URA come into the game buoyed by their latest 2-1 win over high flying Express and more three points will mean trimming the gap between them and leaders to just six points after thirteen rounds of matches played.
Lugazi, managed by Steven Bogere are 12th with 13 points, just four above the relegation zone places and thus need to win to pull away.
CHAN bound Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Moses Aliro will be tasked with unlocking the ever-resilient Lugazi backline manned by veteran Richard Ayiko with Enock Walusimbi keeping Ssemugugu and company at bay in some of the expected battles.
With Isabirye reportedly down with malaria and assistant Baker Kasule attending a CAF A coaching course, goalkeeping coach Jamil Damba could be the one in charge.
