Lugazi have appointed Steven Bogere as their new head coach.
The experienced tactician has signed a one-year contract with ‘The Leaders’ and is a replacement for Sadick Sempigi who was shown the exit last week.
“We are delighted to announce Mr. Steven Bogere as the club’s new head coach,” read a club statement.
“The experienced tactician has signed a one-year employment contract with us, and begins his new role effective Friday October 25, 2024.”
Oliver Mbekeka was in charge on interim basis and guided the club to their first win of the season away to Express FC and has been thanked for standing in.
“We thank the assistant coach for holding forte thus far, and we believe his arrival is timely as the management continues to work towards improving the performance of the team.”
Bogere has previously handled SC Villa, UTODA, Idudi FC, UPDF, Proline, Victoria University (defunct), and Onduparaka.
As a player, he was a joy to watch and featured for Nile FC, Spear Motors, and SC Villa and also played for the Uganda Cranes.
Bogere’s first assignment will be at home to NEC on October 30 at Najjembe.
