The golfing fraternity eagerly looks forward to the very last event of the year 2024.
This will be a battle for elite golfers between Lugazi Hills and Country Club playing against Entebbe club.
The contest will take place on Monday, 30th December 2024 at the newly opened par-72 Lugazi Hills and country club course.
According to the main organizer, professional golfer Davis Kato, the format of play will be match play as well as four ball better ball.
“The challenge will be an exhibition of talented elite golfers from Lugazi and Entebbe. The match-play and four ball better ball format of play will be used” Kato confirmed.
Both teams are expected to assemble star studded sides with the majority playing single handicap.
The reigning Uganda amateur open champion Joseph Reagan Akena will lead the cast of Lugazi players.
Others include Ibrahim Ssemakula, Juma Abiti, Junior Otukei, Joel Okoth, Pius Ocheing, Isaac Ogwalo, Joseph Kanonera, Joshua Marcus Ssenabulya, Peter Mayende, James Madira, Clovis Kasangaki, Derrick Musana, Asuman Tumwesigye, Mufuti Musinguzi and Nickson Ambovi.
The Entebbe crop has the likes of Micheal Tumusiime, Brian Mugisha, Elton Thembo, Benson Opu, Cosmas Ociti, Samuel Bazala, Musa Kirya, Godfrey Kambale, Joshua Otim, Brian Mugabe, Joel Kiizza, Joel Kahuma, Asuman Mwanja, Andrew Byruhanaga, Samuel Wambi and Michael Bron, among others.
The sponsors for this challenge include Peace Hellen and Collins Nuwagira.
