Lyon host Manchester United in the first leg of the Europa League Quarter-Finals on Thursday evening in what should be an action-packed knockout clash in France.

Lyon have yet to beat Man United in their history, but have only faced them four times in major European competitions, drawing twice.
They’ve only faced Barcelona more without winning, going eight winless.
United have seen two away games against Lyon end in a draw having gone behind first, coming back from 2-0 down to 2-2 in 2004 and 1-0 down to 1-1 in 2008.
Lyon were strong in their Round of 16 against FCSB though and are on a good run of form winning by 7-1 on aggregate over the two legs.
At home they make a tough game and for Man United who sit 13th they will have to come out with a big few games to recover a poor season.
United have lost only once in their last 21 Europa League matches – winning as many as 14, last losing to Sevilla 3-0 in April 2023.
Man United haven’t lost the first leg of their last 11 major knockout ties since April 2019 when facing Barcelona and losing 1-0.
However, a win isn’t necessarily on the cards as each of their last three have been draws.
