Netflix may change NFL Sundays forever.

The NFL has been in the process of developing a full-scale Sunday morning international package that many assumed Netflix would want to be a part of.

However, the streaming giant may have its sights set on something much bigger than just an international package.

The streamer’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, told Matt Belloni of Puck, that the company’s goals are much more ambitious than that.

Netflix is looking to make a bid for the NFL’s Sunday afternoon games.

A potential bid that would change the course of how the audience watches games on Sundays.

This would mean taking a bite out of the NFL’s rights on either CBS or FOX.

Hard to fathom.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio hinted that the league will most likely end its current broadcast deals early to re-negotiate.

“The current broadcast deals run through 2033,” Florio wrote.

“The league has the right to pull the plug on the deals four years early, and it likely will.

“So a major shake-up could be coming, with Netflix becoming a very major player in the NFL broadcast landscape.”

“And if Netflix is in, one of the current partners will be out. Or, at best, relegated to Sunday mornings.”

The NFL streamed its first ever games this past Christmas, which resulted in an enormous and record-breaking day for the streaming company.

Nearly 65 million US viewers tuned into Netflix on Christmas Day to watch the two NFL games.

It’s no secret why Netflix is trying to get a bigger piece of the pie.

However, this potential news has left fans split.

This news has left fans divided.

“I speak for everyone, we do not want this,” one fan posted on X.

“We need basic cable back at this point,” another fan lamented.

“Get ready for Netflix prices to skyrocket to pay for this,” more chimed in.

‘This would be a major mistake by the NFL,” another said.

“Can we just stop with this nonsense? You need five different apps now to watch the NFL, it’s getting absurd,” this fan added.

That was the negative.

There was some positive reaction.

“I’d much rather see what Netflix has to offer vs Sunday ticket $400 a season,” one fan said trying to put it into perspective.

“That would be amazing! Please get red zone,” another fan added.

Whether Netflix’s plan comes to fruition or not remains to be seen.

But if it does, the NFL viewing experience won’t ever be the same.
