Manchester United have granted Lecce’s request to name Patrick Dorgu in their squad for one last time on Friday night.
United have agreed a deal upwards of £29million with the Serie A club to sign the highly-rated left-back.
Dorgu will become United boss Ruben Amorim’s first signing since taking over at Old Trafford in November.
However, Lecce head coach Marco Giampaolo insisted Dorgu will at least be on the bench against Parma.
talkSPORT understands United gave their blessing for this – and the Denmark international will now fly to Manchester on Saturday to undergo his Red Devils medical.
“As of today, he’s a Lecce player, so he is called up and will travel for the game,” Giampaolo said at a pre-match press conference on Thursday.
“I’ve made assessments on him, so I’ll make the most logical decision because Lecce comes before everything else.”
According to reports in Italy, Dorgu will not start, but with Lecce sitting in the relegation zone their head coach will be prioritising points not money.
The Salentini have only won one of their last five matches despite the best efforts of the versatile Man United bound player.
He will battle Luke Shaw for a spot at left wing-back after the England international returned to training this week after missing 10 league matches due to injury.
The 20-year-old will also carry the burden of being Ruben Amorim’s first signing as he attempts to revolutionise the club.
And as a wing-back he will be integral to Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system functioning as an attacking threat more than capable of defending deep.
The Red Devils are currently 12th with 29 points, 12 points off top four and 13 away from relegation.
Fans are calling for more investment from owners INEOS but following an expensive summer including Leny Yoro [£58.9m] and Matthijs de Ligt [£42.9m], Sir Jim Ratcliffe and co. need to be wary of PSR rules.
Especially as rumours of a new 100,000 capacity stadium heat up.
United have opted to concentrate on offloading players such as Antony, who was recently loaned out to Real Betis.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho also continue to be linked with the exit door.
However, Man United are quietly scanning the market for a striker and reportedly are interested in a loan deal for Mathys Tel.
Tottenham are also interested in the Bayern Munich youngster – and talkSPORT understands they are willing to pay £50m.
