Arsenal make the trip to Old Trafford as odds on favourites for victory on Sunday as they aim to keep alive the slim hopes they still have winning a first Premier League title in 21 years.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be in extremely buoyant mood after becoming the first team in Champions League history to score seven goals away from home in a knockout tie, as the Gunners beat PSV 7-1 in the Netherlands in the first leg of their Round of 16 clash on Tuesday night.

In the Premier League, the north London side have struggled slightly more in recent weeks, picking up only one point from their last two games against West Ham and Nottingham Forest to enable Liverpool to open up a 13 point lead ahead of them at the top of the table, albeit having played a game more.

Manchester United’s stalemate in Spain on Thursday night against Real Sociedad leaves them with just one win in their last five matches in all competitions.

Ruben Amorim’s side, having been knocked out of the FA Cup at home against Fulham last weekend, now have only the Europa League to play for with the side languishing down in 14th in the league ahead of the weekend, set to break several unwanted record in the process for their worst Premier League season.

The Red Devils have won only one of their last four league games but that victory did come in their most recent league outing, scraping a 3-2 win against a seemingly relegation-bound Ipswich side, though last week’s defeat in the Cup leaves them with six defeats in their last 10 at home.

Arsenal have won the last four Premier League meetings between the two sides but did fall short in the clubs’ most recent meeting at the start of the year in the FA Cup, with the Red Devils coming out on top at the Emirates after a penalty shoot-out.
