- MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo 7pm
After suffering defeat at Lugazi, Hussein Mbalangu has urged his NEC players to forget and move on as they host Police at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo.
The stunning 1-0 loss to newly promoted Lugazi FC saw the Bugolobi based side relinquish top spot with now KCCA and Vipers above them heading into this match day eight.
Mbalangu admits the loss to Lugazi is now behind his team and want a swift reaction.
“The league is a marathon and we shall bounce back,” said Mbalangu. “Of course, we mourned that day after the loss but we have since moved on and focus is now on the Police game,” he added.
“The players are in good mood and we have no new injury worries besides Amir Kakomo and Joseph Dhata.”
NEC will reclaim top spot with maximum points against the Cops who will climb to within two points of the Bugolobi based side if they win.
NEC eliminated Police from the Stanbic Uganda Cup last season enroute to reaching the final and this will be the first Premier League meeting between the two sides.
